When she couldnt find pieces she would like to wear, Carol Lynne Lee, decided to start her own label in 2013. It was a small 'let's-see-how-this-goes' experiment of a few bohochic tops, pants and dresses to add to her existing multi-label fashion business. Since then It has quietly and steadily grown into a much-favoured brand which resonates with many women who are seeking the same sartorial style living in the tropics and any place where the sun shines. Being a former model, buyer and brand developer, Carol had been exposed to many high fashion brands and traveled widely, all of this forming her elan and passion for Coffee&Covet. She loves a good flat white and beautiful things. Hence the brand name.
The brand inspires stylish simplicity and evokes feelings of ease and wanderlust designed to bridge chic tropical urban and resort vacation style seamlessly. Being based in Malaysia, Carol is deeply inspired by the rich cultures and crafts of the country and its surrounding regions. Her prints are often derivatives of the exotic and old world but always applied with a modern day sensibility. Fabrics used are mainly rayons and voiles with some cottons and linens that are easy to care and feel good on the body. They are hand dyed and printed by small co-operative workshops that Carol works closely with each season. Essential go-to tops and bottoms in addition to statement print dresses in easy relaxed silhouettes are the key components of the label.
In a world that is fast-moving, full of short-lived and highly disposable trends, Carol is continually leaning towards slow fashion in her approach to Coffee&Covet. You will find her pieces are timeless, made with care and of quality. Her degree in Social Science and Philosophy marries well with her acute sense of style and aesthetics as she strives to elevate the realm of comfort and style; functionality and practicality; metropolitan and bucolic.
At the end, it's always this : "I let my clothes be the best versions of yourselves. No matter at what age."
